Infrastructure
Neubau is the seventh district of Vienna; located near the city centre it counts as one of the inner districts. It is a lively and populated area, known for its young and hip feel, and abundance of shops, museums, restaurants, cafés and bars. Most notable sights in the district include the Main Library on the Gürtel (Hauptbücherei), with a bar and restaurant on top offering lovely views of Vienna, the Imperial Furniture Collection (Möbelmuseum), the Vienna Volkstheater, and the Museum Quarter (Museumsquartier) near the first district, which is one of the largest cultural centres in Europe, home to numerous museums and exhibitions, and a popular meeting spot among locals to enjoy art, a drink, or just to people-watch. You will find a range of boutiques and shops, as well as bars and restaurants, on the lively Mariahilfer Straße, a popular semi-pedestrianized shopping street. Do not miss a stroll along the cobble-stoned alleys of Spittelberg, lovely at any time of the year, but especially charming in winter when they host one of Vienna’s many Christmas Markets from mid-November until Christmas. In this bustling district, people of all interests and professions come together to give the neighbourhood a distinct eclectic feel.
The apartment is located in Kaiserstraße, less than five minutes walking distance from the Mariahilfer Straße. The two metro stations Burggasse-Stadthalle and Westbahnhof are both around the corner, connecting you to the lines U3 and U6. The tram line 5 passes right in front of the apartment, the station is called Stollgasse. The city centre is only 20 minutes away on foot, or less than 10 minutes by U3. All the main sights are easily accessible on foot or by public transportation, and the apartment makes a lovely starting point to experience Vienna city and one of its liveliest and most eclectic neighbourhoods.
Our guests will find a range of restaurants, cafes and bars all around the apartment. Take a short stroll to the alleys of Spittelberg to enjoy a meal in the popular and lovingly decorated Ulrich or Erich. For an experimental fine-dining experience, try Dots Sushi, located on Mariahilfer Straße. For a meal or simply a coffee or cocktail whilst enjoying a view over Vienna, visit the stunning Oben bar and restaurant, atop the Main Library. While you are in the young, hip and lively 7th district, there is always a wine and dine option for you around the corner.
